The Interview That Started With Discovery

When I recently interviewed for a position teaching adult education, I expected to talk about my thirty years of experience in the classroom. Instead, one of the most meaningful conversations centered on Discovery.

I shared how Discovery transformed my life and how its mission to inspire others to live with greatness gave me a renewed passion for helping people recognize their own value and potential. The interview team told me they could feel that passion as I spoke. They saw someone who wanted to do more than teach—they saw someone who wanted to help people believe in themselves.

I’m excited to share that I was offered the position.

In my new role, I’ll be helping adults earn their GED while encouraging them to overcome the obstacles that have kept them from reaching their goals. Many of these people have faced setbacks, self-doubt, or years of believing they weren’t capable. Their journey isn’t just about earning a diploma—it’s about rediscovering their confidence, their purpose, and their worth.

That is why Discovery means so much to me. Discovery reminds us that every person has value, that our past does not define our future, and that greatness already exists within us. Those same principles are what I hope to bring into my classroom.

As I begin this new chapter, I’m reminded that Discovery doesn’t just change weekends—it changes lives. It gives ordinary people the courage to see their own worth, believe in their potential, and inspire others to do the same.
